Students on the NFTS'Broadcast Production course had the fantastic opportunity to learn how TV Quiz Shows are made with Director Mick Thomas (Deal or No Deal, The Chase, Big Fat Quiz) who is one of the UK's leading TV directors. Mick Thomas took students through the production, culminating in recording their own show at Sky TV’s state-of-the-art studios, this week.
Working closely with the NFTS'Production Management course and Sky staff the Broadcast Production students worked on a 45 minute quiz show, practicing their skills in a real TV environment at Sky.
Broadcast Production students get to specialise in either Camera /Lighting, or Sound or Vision Mixing. They are given the incredible opportunity to spend six weeks on work placement at Sky Studios as part of their course where they work on exciting television productions.
Sky also offers a job contract for one student at the end of every course.
This unique diploma includes industry expert led training at the NFTS and visits to working studios to see shows and meet professionals in the TV industry. They also spend some time at BBC Studios at Elstree shadowing a major TV show.
