NFTS Screenwriting graduate Regina Moriarty has been nominated for a 2015 BAFTA Craft Best Newcomer Award for the production Murdered By My Boyfriend. This comes hot on the heels of winning the 2015 Royal Television Society Award for Best Single Drama.

The original drama became a runaway hit when it was shown, last year, on BBC 3 and then shown again on BBC One due to popular demand.

The critically acclaimed drama – based on a true story about a young woman who falls in love with a man who eventually takes her life – scored an outstanding 3.5m viewing figure (Live +7) the night it screened on BBC 3.

Murdered By My Boyfriend tells the hard-hitting fatal story of a 17-year-old girl caught up in domestic abuse and was penned by Regina just two years after graduating from the NFTS. It was shot by NFTS Cinematographer Carlos Catalan
