NFTS graduates have snapped up two prizes at the international Cannes Film Festival.Crocodile, a BFI Lighthouse funded film produced by NFTS producing graduate Zorana Piggott won Critics Week. And NFTS 2014 animated graduation film The Bigger Picture, directed by Daisy Jacobs, produced by Chris Hees and co-written by Jennifer Majka has won Joint Third Prize in the Cinefondation Short Film Section. One of the judges on the panel for this section was fellow graduate Joachim Trier.
The film was selected from 1631 entries that were submitted from all over the world to the Cinéfondation - and was the only film from the UK. This is the third year in succession that an NFTS film has played in this category.

NFTS graduate Zorana Piggott setup 011 Productions in 2008 following her Head of Production position at London’s F&ME. She has produced a number of award-winning short films, including Tom Geens’ Film4/UKFC production You’re the Stranger Here, and the 2009 Cannes Film Festival selected Together by Eicke Bettinga and starring Matt Smith. Also selected in Critics Week was The Chicken - a short film written and directed by NFTS 2010 graduate Una Gunjak (Editing). The film includes NFTS graduates Jelena Goldbach (Producing 2011), Matthias Pilz (Cinematography 2012) and Giacomo Matteucci (DPP 2011) and has already won the Robert Bosch Stiftung Film Prize for Short Fiction.
