Sound Design 2014 graduate Rob Hardcastle has been named the winner of the Goldcrest Internship. He will receive a two-month paid internship in sound post production at the Goldcrest London office.

Following the announcement, Rob Hardcastle said: “As a student at the NFTS for the past two years I have benefited enormously from exceptional teaching and facilities and now I can't think of a better opportunity to gain first-hand professional experience than through this structured paid internship with such a highly respected company as Goldcrest and under the mentorship of Adrian Rhodes."

Working under the mentorship of Goldcrest's BAFTA winning sound supervisor Adrian Rhodes, the successful intern will experience how a project is brought into a facility, the various milestones, through to final sound mix and deliverables for both feature film, broadcast and other media. It is part of a three-year Goldcrest deal with the NFTS.

Adrian Rhodes said the selection process had been difficult due to the wealth of talent among NFTS Sound Design students but added: “I saw in Rob Hardcastle a good combination of technical skills & creativity across both sound editorial & mixing processes. This along with his good communicative abilities, I felt his talents would fit Goldcrest's sound department well.”

A long established and privately owned fully integrated filmed entertainment company, Goldcrest's list of credits includes Academy Award winners The Iron Lady, Les Misérables and Skyfall together with One Direction: This is Us, Twilight and Harry Potter.

The Goldcrest Internship will be structured across eight weeks embracing key areas of Sound Design, Mixing and Delivery for distribution and broadcast.

Goldcrest CEO Chris Quested said: "We value the quality of NFTS sound graduates and are keen to embrace their talent by introducing them into the professional working post sound world."
