Our grads have been doing us proud once again winning documentary and short film awards, Emmy nominations and working on the latest releases.
Documentary, Coalville Gold has won the ‘Wildcard Award’ at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival. The documentary, which is directed by Ross Bolidai, is about Stevie Gold, a young man from previously thriving Leicestershire village, Coalville. Once a hardened criminal, Stevie finds redemption and celebrity status through bare knuckle boxing.
Animation, Edmond has won the prize for ‘Best Short Film’ at Cinema Jove, the International Festival of Cinema, Valencia. The film is directed by Nina Gantz and produced by Emilie Jouffroy and features a character called Edmond, whose impulse to love and be close to others is strong… Maybe too strong. As he stands alone by a lake, contemplating his options, he goes on a journey backwards through his life, and revisits all his defining moments in search for the origin of his desires.
