Students on the NFTS'Broadcast Production diploma course have just finished shooting and recording an 'as live' music show at Sky's state-of-the-art Studios.
TV entertainment director David G. Croft (Shooting Stars, Crystal Maze, Live Aid) took the students through the processes and planning that goes into a music show, like 'Later with Jools,' and directed them as they produced their own version. Their show, titled 'Earlier With Kristian' included three live acts and a presenter recorded in one of Sky's largest studios.
Course leader Ian Stubbs said: "No backing tracks or miming is allowed on this show and a wide range of artists was booked to give our sound students the opportunity to capture a variety of instruments and to mix a variety of bands live. With the guidance of Sky staff and NFTS tutors they planned and managed the rig, booked the equipment and mixed the show. The final mix was of a very high standard and was testament to the skills gained during the course."
All Broadcast Production students have a six week placement atSky with additional experience at BBC Studios and Post Production. One student is guaranteed a job at Sky Studios at the end of the course.
****Places are still available for students wanting to specialise in SOUND for the next course starting in January 2016 and ending in December 2016****
