NFTS Digital Effects students are heading to Centroid next week, where they'll be learning about Motion Capture technology with Mocap director Rob Tygner (Black Mirror, Anti Christ)
Centroid provides the motion capture for film, television and games and is located at the world famous Pinewood and Shepperton Studios, where there is a purpose built Full Performance Capture studio (http://www.centroid3d.com/)
The motion capture module is an established part of the NFTS Digital FX Masters course. DFX students write, direct and produce an idea incorporating performance capture techniques, benefitting from the 8 year partnership between Centroid and the NFTS. By the end of the module, the DFX students have a full understanding of how mo-cap techniques are advancing the VFX industry.
NFTS Head of DFX John Rowe said: "This is a great opportunity for students to get a feel for what it's like to work with cutting edge Motion Capture technology that is used by the film industry. They'll learn how the data is handled, processed and delivered to the client - invaluable insights that they'll need when they enter the industry."
The industry links to the NFTS’ Digital Effects MA course are second to none and 95% of its students gain work within six months of graduating.
If you'd like to apply for this course, get your application in by the October 19th deadline.
