The Premier League, Channel 4 Racing, European Tour Golf, the Champions League… among possible work placements

Students on the NFTS’ NEW Sports Production course have the chance to work on live programming with IMG - the largest independent producer of sports programming in the world.

This 12 month diploma course, starting in January, will equip students with the editorial skills required to produce state-of-the-art sports and live events coverage, highlights content and other material. Successful applicants will be placed in a variety of programmes and given training in various skills including, Logging, Self-Shooting, Editing and Directing.

The live programming they may work on includes The Premier League, Channel 4 Racing, The World Snooker Championships for the BBC, the Champions League for UEFA, or Multi Sport events such as the South East Asian Games.

Additional opportunities may include the IMG World Feed for Wimbledon and one of the 55 European Tour Golf events covered by European Tour Productions. Motorsport productions range from the Speedway World Cup, Le Mans 24 hours through to the World Rally Cross Championships.

In India, IMG produce live Football, Kabaddi and Hockey programming as well as the Indian Premier League - the foremost 20 over cricket event in the world. It is also the host broadcaster for the Caribbean Premier League.

IMG’s Digital productions include InCycle and Golfing World and its Entertainment roster numbers World’s Strongest Man and TVOD.

Magazine programmes that require creative and original thought are as varied as Trans World Sport, the longest running sports magazine show in the world, Road to Russia for FIFA, World, Champions League, as well as various Premier League programmes and Cricket 360.

IMG has won numerous awards and is the current holder of the Royal Television Society’s Best Director award (Denise Large) and the Broadcast award for best live sports programme (Grand National 2014.)
