An NFTS TV Department horror prank show is to get its USA Premiere at the prestigious L.A. Comedy Festival and has been optioned by Knickerbockerglory.
Monster Hunters is a unique hybrid format that mixes hidden camera pranks with scripted comedy drama, putting real members of the public into the world of a horror movie.
In the pilot episode to be shown at this festival, the Monster Hunters discover a deadly zombie virus, and the team must fight the outbreak before it becomes uncontrollable.
It was written and produced by Jonathan Dakin and co-created and directed by Brigitta Szászfai as their NFTS Producing and Directing TV Entertainment 2015 graduation project (see full credits below).
Jonathan said they were thrilled that the show had been selected for the L.A Comedy Festival, adding: "Monster Hunters was incredibly challenging to make, mainly because no one has ever done anything like it before, but I loved every second of it. Monster Hunters pushed us all out of our comfort zones, but allowed us all to be incredibly creative, particularly when we had to roll with the punches and think on our feet."
