NFTS students were treated to a masterclass in stop-motion animation with the co-directors and top animators Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi who brought some of the puppet characters from the animated feature film Boxtrolls to the school.

They talked students through the process of making Boxtrolls with 3D stop-motion animation with CGI and imparted both their passion for the art-form and the joys and challenges of puppet and voice-work.

Graham Annable is known for his work as the creator of Grickle, published by Alternative Comics, one of the founders of the Hickee humor anthology (also published by Alternative Comics) as well as animated feature films Full Throttleand Coraline.

He was also a storyboard artist for Antz, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and Curious George.  He made his directorial debut as co-director of Sony Pictures Animation's first animated film Open Season.

On the same day, NFTS students enjoyed a workshop with award-winning  Ryu Seonghie who is the leading production designer working with the true greats of Korean cinema ‎like Park Chanwook on Old Boy and Bong June-Ho on The Host
