The NFTS was delighted to welcome more than 150 Film, TV and Games industry talent spotters to its annual Talent Showcase at BAFTA.
Among the guests were Producer Barbara Broccoli, OBE (James Bond film franchise - pictured right), Actor & Producer Karen Lewis Attenborough (Chaplin, Shadowlands) and award-winning Director/ Screenwriter Michael Radford (Il Postino, 1984, White Mischief - pictured below right) who is an NFTS graduate.
The audience of top independent production companies, distributors, agents and film organisations gave rapturous applause to the selection of NFTS 1st Year short films, TV Entertainment formats and video Games.
Also screened were student Oscar finalist North (AMPAS Student Academy Awards Foreign Film Category Finalist), Edinburgh Film Festival winner Slap (Virgin Atlantic Little Red Award for Best Short Film), the BAFTA 2014 Best Short Film winning films Room 8 and animation Sleeping With The Fishes as well as the Kodak Student Commercial award winners First Time and Once She was Just Like You.
There was a sneak preview of new the British independent action thriller film Containment, which has been produced and largely crewed by graduates. And there was a delighted laughter for the humourous and beautifully shot short film Juliet made by NFTS graduates for the prestigious Georgio Armani international film project Films of City Frames. Film press attending included film critic Peter Bradshaw from The Guardian and Rosie Fletcher, Acting Editor of Total Film magazine.
Nik Powell said after the event: "It is fantastic that so many top film, TV and Games industry talent spotters are flocking to see the work of our outstanding students at the Talent Showcase. This annual event is fast becoming the hot ticket in town."
