At the NFTS, our tutors and Heads of Department are some of the UK’s leading film and television professionals whose skills are sought after by the industry.
While running award-winning NFTS courses, they also keep one foot in the industry by working on current film and television productions. These links ensure that their teaching are up to date and reflect the industry’s needs and technological developments.
Head of Post Production Dean Humphreys (Taken 2, The Pianist, Donnie Brasco) is working as Sound Re-recording Mixer on the forthcoming action thriller sequel Taken 3.
Head of Production Sound Fraser Barber (Black Mirror, the Paradise, Silent Witness) is working as production sound mixer on J.K Rowling’s forthcoming film The Casual Vacancy.
Head of Production Design Caroline Amies (Ladies In Lavender, The Name of the Father) is the production designer on the film Miss Julie starring Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell that premieres at the Toronto Film Festival.
