Four  NFTS short films have been shortlisted for the prestigious Grierson Awards in the Sky Atlantic Best Student Documentary category.

The shortlisted NFTS films are Honey On Wounds directed by Iulia Stoian, Love Me Tender directed by Tim Knights, Side By Side directed by Jack Warrender and Sing Your Heart Out directed by Peter Akar– who all graduated in 2014.

NFTS films have been honoured with this award for two year’s running. Last year, NFTS student film Sodiq produced and directed by 2013 graduate Adeyemi Michael, scooped the Sky Atlantic Best Student Documentary prize – plus fellow 2013 graduate Marc Williamson was commended by the judges for his film Boys. In 2012, it was won by Karen Winther’s NFTS documentary The Betrayal.

The Grierson Awards recognise and celebrate documentaries from Britain and abroad that have made a significant contribution to the genre and that demonstrate quality, integrity, creativity, originality and overall excellence.

Nominations for the awards ceremony will be announced in September – well done and good luck to all of the filmmakers !
